Australia’s best known sandstone formation, Uluru, lies in the Northern Territory, 335 km south of the nearest town of Alice Springs. Uluru is 3.6km long and rises a towering 348m from the ground. It lies in Uluru-Kata Tjuṯa National Park, which also offers caves, water holes, and hiking trails.
