Matterhorn – Switzerland

Rising 4,478 meters into the crisp air, the Matterhorn is one of the highest mountains in the Alps and has become the iconic symbol of the Swiss Alps. The peak overlooks the village of Zermatt, which holds a population of approximately 5,800. The entire region is popular for outdoor sports like skiing and snowboarding, as well as hiking at lower altitudes.
